Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These terms are between you and Radiant Protocols DMCC, Unit No. 3O-01-5467, Jewellery & Gemplex 3, Plot No. DMCC-PH2-J&GPlexS, Jewellery & Gemplex, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and govern your use of Rival Monarchs, its App Clip, online services and website (the "Game"). By playing, you accept them. If you are under 18, please read them with a parent or guardian.

2. Who can play

You must be at least 13, or the minimum age required in your country to use online services without parental consent, whichever is higher. Players under that age may use offline modes only. If we learn an underage player is using online features, we may close the account.

3. The Game

The Game is free to play.

• Changes and availability. We may change, add or remove features, maps, units and balance at any time. Online services may sometimes be unavailable. We don't guarantee that any match, rating or replay will be preserved, especially before the Game's official release.
• AI opponents. When no human opponent is available, we may offer an AI opponent. It's always clearly labelled, and AI matches are unrated.

4. Your account

• Creation and recovery. Online play creates an anonymous account tied to your device. If you lose the device, or delete the Android app, without linking Game Center, Google Play Games, Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, we may be unable to recover the account.
• Your responsibility. You're responsible for activity on your account. Don't sell, share, transfer or buy accounts.
• One rated account per person.

5. Licence

• What you may do. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Game on Apple or Android devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store's Usage Rules or the Google Play Terms of Service.
• What you may not do. Except where the law expressly allows it, you may not copy, modify, decompile, reverse engineer or create derivative works of the Game, or use it commercially.
• Videos and streams. You may stream, record and publish videos and screenshots of the Game, including on monetized channels, as long as you don't imply that we endorse you and don't redistribute the Game's files.

6. Fair play and conduct

You agree not to:

• cheat, use modified clients, "maphacks", bots or automation in online play;
• exploit bugs, or intentionally cause desyncs or disconnects to avoid losses;
• manipulate ratings (win trading, boosting, smurfing to harass new players);
• attack or overload our servers;
• harass, threaten or impersonate others (including our staff);
• use the Game for anything unlawful.

7. Names, quick-chat and moderation

• Names. Display names are generated for you (for example player-3fa9c1). If you sign in with Apple and share your name, other players see your first name (as you shared it with Apple) instead. If you sign in with Google, they see the first name on your Google Account instead. We remove symbols and block offensive words, and moderators can reset a name to a generated one.
• Quick-chat. It's limited to preset messages.
• Reporting. You can report and block players in the app, from the match (tap their name, or use the match menu) or the result screen. We review reports, aiming to respond within 48 hours, and may change names, mark results unrated, adjust ratings, suspend or ban accounts. We may also use automated checks, for example for impossible command patterns or mismatched game states.
• Reasons and appeals. We tell you the reason for any restriction and how to appeal. Appeal by emailing hello@radiantprotocols.com within 6 months of the decision.

8. Matches, replays and results

• Recording. We record every online match (the commands both players issue and checksums of the game state). We use the records to run the match, compute ratings, show replays and resolve disputes.
• Who sees them. Your opponent can watch the replay, and so can anyone either of you shares it with.
• Our results are final. When the two games disagree ("desync") the match is a no contest. Disconnecting past the grace period, or staying away longer than the AFK limit, counts as a forfeit.

9. Purchases (when available)

• What we'll sell. Content and cosmetics only, never power. Prices and our lifetime spending cap are shown in the app.
• Payment and refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google under their own terms. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google.
• Virtual items. Event rewards and free items (such as the Founder banner) have no monetary value, can't be exchanged for money, and may be adjusted if earned through a bug or cheating.

10. Feedback

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without obligation to you.

11. Third-party services

Game Center, Sign in with Apple, TestFlight, the App Store, Google Play Games, Sign in with Google, Google Play and our Discord community are provided by third parties under their own terms.

12. Termination

You can stop playing and delete your account in the app at any time, or ask us to delete it without the app (how to delete your account). We may suspend or terminate access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we must for legal reasons. If we ever shut down online services, we'll give at least 60 days' notice in the app, and offline modes will keep working.

13. Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, the Game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Radiant Protocols DMCC's total liability for any claim relating to the Game is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50 if you paid nothing. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses. These limits don't apply to liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes, we'll tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep playing after that, the new terms apply.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied there, and disputes go to the courts of Dubai. If you are a consumer in the EU, the UK or another country with mandatory consumer protections, you keep those protections and may bring claims in your local courts.

18. Apple-required terms

This section applies if you got the Game from Apple's App Store. You and Radiant Protocols DMCC acknowledge that:

1. Agreement. These terms are between you and Radiant Protocols DMCC only, not Apple. Radiant Protocols DMCC, not Apple, is solely responsible for the Game and its content.
2. Scope. Your licence is limited to using the Game on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service. Family Sharing may allow use by other members of your family.
3. Support. Radiant Protocols DMCC is solely responsible for maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide any.
4. Warranty. Radiant Protocols DMCC is responsible for any product warranty not effectively disclaimed. If the Game fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent the law permits, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
5. Product claims. Radiant Protocols DMCC, not Apple, is responsible for addressing claims relating to the Game, including product liability, failure to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection, privacy or similar claims.
6. Intellectual property. If a third party claims the Game or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, Radiant Protocols DMCC, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
7. Export. You represent that you aren't located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and aren't on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
8. Contact. Questions, complaints or claims go to Radiant Protocols DMCC at the address in §17.
9. Third-party terms. You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the Game, such as your mobile data plan.
10. Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
